The Maryland Association of Pet Industries (M.A.P.I.) accomplishments include:
- Negotiated a favorable settlement of a Psittacosis Quarantine that affected 35 stores
- Supported and encouraged local response that resolved a problem resulting from a ban on the sale of electrical equipment. Still working with manufacturers to change equipment design and approval process
- Seminars and workshops providing continued education on relevant topics (e.g. legal issues with employees, ferret management and display)
