The Maryland Association of Pet Industries (MAPI), an industry association of independent pet stores, distributors, manufacturers and breeders, has developed a group of stores who will either take back any pet you cannot keep or refer you to an appropriate drop off location. We will re-home any animal to avoid having the pet released into the wild where it will can become an environmental nuisance or suffer due to its particular environmental needs.

Those stores interested in becoming Gold Circle Members may contact MDAPI via e-mail for an application for certification at goldcircle@mdapi.com.
